What to Expect
• Depending on your treatment area, expect the treatment to take 10 to 30 minutes.
• You most likely won’t feel much pain, but discomfort levels largely depend on individual tolerance and sensitivity.

The following may affect when you may have your procedure or even if you will tolerate it.
- Known hypersensitivity to Botox / Dysport
- If you are pregnant, or suspect you may be pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding as Botox and Dysport are contraindicated during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Before Your Procedure
Avoid any over-the-counter medications that could cause blood thinning for a few days before treatment. This will increase chance of bruising.
- Aspirin or aspirin-containing products
- Vitamin E
- Fish Oil
For 24 Hours after your Treatment
Do NOT
- Massage injected area
- Exercise vigorously
- Drink red wine
Expose area to excessive heat (hot tub, sauna, tanning, sun)
Contact our office immediately if any of the following occur
- Excessive Swelling or Pain
- Increased warmth at or around the treated area beyond 48-hours post-treatment.
- Extreme Itching

- Known hypersensitivity to Botox/Dysport
Precautions
If you have any of the following you may still get the service but must be advised you may be more sensitive and have more chance of a reaction
- Taking Aspirin products or blood thinners you run the risk of more bruising
Prior to Appointment
- No exercise within 1 hour of appointment
- Avoid alcohol 24 hours before appointment
Post Appointment
- No cardio exercise for 24 hours
- No red wine for 24 hours

What is Botox?
Botox is a Neurotoxin, which is a medication that blocks the underlying muscular activity that causes signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, as well as skin creases and folds. They don’t prevent you from showing expression, but they do keep muscular lines from forming for a short time.
How does Botox Cosmetic work?
Wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. When you frown or concentrate, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. And when you squint, the muscles around your eyes contract and cause crow’s feet. FDA approved BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the skin’s surface and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet to form over time.
Botox is very simple to perform for our certified injectors and usually takes only a few minutes. A small amount of Botox® Cosmetic is injected into the muscles that cause them to relax and reduce muscle activity while smoothing out the wrinkles. Since the needle used is so small, there is no discomfort, and no anesthesia is needed. The final result is a reduction in the appearance of those lines.
How long do Botox injections last?
Results typically last 3-4 months.
Is Botox Cosmetic right for me?
Only your aesthetic practitioner can determine whether BOTOX Cosmetic is right for you. We are happy to see you for a BOTOX consultation, at which time we will review your medical history, take photos and determine if Botox is a good option for you. Every patient is different, and we specifically go over your physical exam and what realistic expectations are for you.
If we determine that BOTOX is a good choice for you, the procedure involves a series of injections that take several minutes each. Botox starts to work usually within 24-48 hours and reaches peak effect closer to 14 days after treatment.
What else can Botox injections treat?
For many people, dealing with those annoying sweat stains on their clothes, hoping no one notices them, is a daily occurrence. The embarrassment associated with excessive sweating can be profound.
